How to fix a dripping tap

Описание: This kitchen sink tap constantly drips and I’m going to show you how to fix it. First thing first is you have to shut the water off.

The most common place to isolate the tap would be in the cupboard below but in this unit there is no isolation valves so I need to find the main stop tap.

Once the water is off what you want to do is remove the handle assembly to gain access to the spline of the tap cartridge. Some types have a grip screw which requires a Alan key set to remove or they could have either a bit of plastic on the end of the handle that needs to come out to gain access to a screw to remove the head .Using a pair of grips and or spanner simply undo the cartridge from the body catching the water as it comes out. With the water isolated you should only get the water in the spout coming out. Using a spline gauge you can work out how many it has and you can use the ruler on the side and take the body out to check which size you need.

Once you have the measurements of the cartridge you can go ahead and order a new one.

Wants the new tap cartridge has arrived. Go through the steps that you have done previously to get the old tap cartridge out of the body and winds the new one back in its place. Check that the handle finishes in the right position sometimes she might have to even tighten the valve a bit more to try and bring the final position of the handle more straight.

Fixing a dripping tap should always be a skill to have a knowledge of fixing a very basic simple Plumbing job . if your tap does not have quarter turn and it has the more traditional winding down to the left or right style then you will have a rubber washer that needs to be replaced and a brass seating that needs to be grind done which I will make a future video of doing so.
