113 is housed at an EMS station in Liberec.
Standard info:
You can read more information about the "new" ambulances, their code 3 equipment, graphics and worker's opinions below.
About the new units and what they replaced:
This one is from the newest series of 2015 Mercedes Sprinter (high chassis)/ Fosan ambulances for the Liberec Region which went in service in early 2016. They replaced a whole bunch of Volkswagen T5, their mileage usually started at around 185,000 miles (300,000Km) up to 260,000 miles (420,000Km), one has 422,000 miles (680,000Km). Some are actually in the process of being sold, you can find a list of them (including the model year and mileage) here: http://www.zzslk.cz/sites/default/fil... and with pictures http://www.zzslk.cz/sites/default/fil...
Opinions on the new units:
From what I've heard the workers seem to prefer the older units (Volkswagen Transporter). The Sprinters are a little bigger, a little more difficult to drive due to the size and high chassis, therefore slower and the suspension is just rubbish. The Sprinters offer more room though. Some regions replaced their VW T5's by Sprinters and most of the the workers (if not all) criticize the Sprinters suspension.
About the code 3 equipment of the vehicles:
The siren is a Whelen (I believe) Epsilon coming from 2 Whelen speakers which are mounted BEHIND the grill.. unfortunately. Speakers have to be mounted in front of the vehicle for the full efficiency.
The lightbar is an unknown one. Similar used on other Liberec Region EMS ambulance as seen here: • Liberec ZZS Libereckého kraje ambulance 18...
The mirror lights are unknown as well, not bright (compare them to the other small lights).
The dash light is from Whelen.
The grill and intersection lights, the lower and upper side lights in the rear and the 6 rear lights (altogether 14 lights) are all Whelen LINZ6. 4 rear lights are blue, the other 2 amber are used as turn signal and I assume as scene lighting.
Unfortunately they continued to use battenburgs. They used to have some really cool and unique graphics before: • Liberec ZZS Libereckého kraje ambulance 52... Unfortunately they didn't combine the older graphics with battenburgs. Other regions already did so. The battenburgs of the previous units looked a little cooler at least: • Liberec ZZS Libereckého kraje ambulance 18...
