Using a low power microscope (10x to 20x) for high resolution super macro photography with a Sony RX100 II. The RX100 II can take 10 photos per second, has a 20 megapixel 1" sensor, and using a Celestron Digiscoping adapter isn't ideal, but it works for the most part. In the video, you can see a photo on the camera's LCD of frost that I created and photographed at 10x magnification. Still haven't tried the 20x magnification. The results aren't quite as pleasing as I was expecting, however with experience they might be perfected. I like to light snowflakes from below, as well as from various angles, then combine the photos together, and even use light that has specific color. The main issue that I've encountered is that it's a zoom lens, however what's important is that I can eliminate vignetting. I use an Oppilas wireless remote shutter release. I've been having issues with it, and after asking online about how to fix it, practically no responses, so am going to get a different remote. Waiting for the first snowflakes of the year to fall here, let's hope for some large dendritic snowflakes, as I've yet to photograph those! Would be nice to have a camera as small as a Gopro that could work for this setup. Read the full script @ http://compelledblog.blogspot.com/201... If you think anything of the video, or have any advice on what I could do better or differently, please leave a comment. Thanks.
