Applying for a post graduation work permit within Canada

Important update: As said in this video, official transcripts are now required for this application. You will be asked the question “Do you have an official letter from your school that confirms you’ve completed your study program, as well as a copy of your final transcript?” in your questionnaire. After visiting the Student Service Centre links, you will see the official proof of enrolment letter can now be issued to you by email (you can use the free self-serve letter on Quest: https://uwaterloo.ca/quest/help/stude...) and official transcript can be issued to you through MyCreds online.

Important update: As of February 23, 2023, IRCC is resuming the collection of biometrics for individuals in Canada who are applying for temporary residence: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-.... Anyone applying for a temporary status from within Canada will need to give biometrics if they had not given them already within the last 10 years.

There is a question in the eligibility questionnaire that asks, "In the past 10 years, have you given your fingerprints and photo (biometrics) for an application to come to Canada?" Be sure to answer this honestly and correctly. If you’re unsure, you can use the Check Status tool to find out if your biometrics are still valid: https://onlineservices-servicesenlign.... If you have not given biometrics before (or if your biometrics are expiring soon), you should pay the additional $85 biometrics fee and you will receive a Biometrics Instruction Letter with further instructions shortly after applying online.
