The Federal Court has accepted the argument that it's the fault of our “rotten, colonialist, racist, white society” if an Aboriginal person dies earlier than they should, says Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
This comes after a 66-year-old Victorian man named Dennis Fisher went to the court to force the commonwealth government to give the pension to Aboriginal people three years earlier than to everyone else – when they turn 64 instead of 67.
He argued Aboriginal people tend to die earlier than everyone else and get less time to enjoy the pension, which he believes is racist.
“Now, the good part about what the Federal Court, five judges … have just ruled is that, no, we're not going to have a welfare system where one race gets the pension at 64 and everyone else three years later,” Mr Bolt said.
“But the bad thing these judges did was still accept Fisher's wider argument, and indeed the argument of the commonwealth, in this case, the Albanese government – that argument is that if Aboriginal men or women die earlier than they should … it's the fault of our rotten, colonialist, racist, white society.”
