Environment parity is one of those technical terms that sounds super complicated, but really just means that we want our production software, code, and database to match our other environments. It’s a great idea because it allows you, the programmer, to effectively reason about the features and bugs you’re writing — and to be confident that if it “works on my machine” that it’ll work in production. ✅
