Leviathan, the largest energy project in the history of the State of Israel, is reaching its final stages:
Production of natural gas is expected by year end.
The TopSides, which consist of five different units that form the Leviathan platform, are expected to arrive in Israel in the coming days on four barges. The world's largest Semi-Submersible Crane Vessel, is located on site, near the Jacket (the platform legs) set up earlier this year, and will carry out the platform installation.
The Leviathan platform is placed about 10 km offshore at a depth of 86 meters and is 47 meters above sea level. The Semi-Submersible Crane, which will assemble and install the platform, is equipped with two cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 10,000 tonnes each, 220 meters long, 102 meters wide and height of about 195 meters above water making it the largest crane vessel in the world.
