Devkund Waterfall: Amazon valley of India
Less explored a couple of years back but too much crowded from the last few years. It is the confluence of three waterfalls and is said to be the origin of the Kundalika River. It is about a three-hour trek to and fro from the base village along the dam backwater and through the forest. A major part of the trek goes through some semi-dried forests with the river running parallel and sometimes crisscrossing through the route.
Trek details:
Duration: 1.5-2 hrs (to reach the waterfall from start point)
Distance: 6.5 km approx. (one-sided)
Difficulty level: Easy (becomes tough in heavy monsoons since you have to cross three river streams)
Endurance Required: Medium
Safety:
During the monsoon the water volume increases rapidly due to the design of the hills, so making it very risky, even govt issues order to close this place during heavy monsoon due to accidents happened in the past.
