In EP4 of the Kodevy Full Stack Architecture Series, we take our first real step into microservices.
Before writing code, we break down:
• What a monolith is
• What a microservice really is
• The pros and cons of microservice architecture
• When you should (and shouldn’t) use it
Then we scaffold a production-ready microservice using the public Kodevy NuGet templates.
We explore:
• How the service is structured
• What layers are generated (Domain, Application, Infrastructure, API)
• How dependencies flow
• How to run and verify the service
We also set up PostgreSQL locally using Docker and verify that the microservice runs correctly in a real environment.
This episode focuses on foundation and structure.
In the next episode, we’ll go deeper into the actual code — breaking down each layer, implementing real use cases, and understanding how everything connects.
This is not about building fast.
This is about building correctly.
