Dr Euan Roger and Shurlock explore Chertsey Abbey, looking for clues about the history of this important Anglo-Saxon monastery. The Abbey was founded in 666AD, and so this year is its 1350th anniversary! In all those years, the Abbey has seen lots of history, and this video covers aspects of Anglo-Saxon, Viking, Medieval and Tudor history. Suitable for teaching KS1 and KS2 history, but also of interest for all ages.
