Violence in India’s neighboring country Bangladesh shows no signs of slowing down. Despite the announcement of general elections, the country continues to face near–civil war–like conditions. A large number of protesters gathered near the official residence of Chief Adviser Mohammad Yunus, Jamuna, demanding the immediate implementation of the Ninth National Pay Scale. Security forces erected barricades to control the situation, but as tensions escalated, water cannons and sound grenades were used to disperse the crowd. Protesters attempted to storm Mohammad Yunus’s residence, further worsening the situation. To regain control, police resorted to baton charges. More than 50 people were injured during the clashes. The incident highlights the growing unrest in Bangladesh ahead of the elections and raises serious questions about the interim government’s ability to maintain law and order.

भारत के पड़ोसी देश बांग्लादेश में जारी हिंसा थमने का नाम नहीं ले रही है। बांग्लादेश में आम चुनाव के ऐलान के बाद भी गृहयुद्ध जैसे हालत बने हुए है। नौवें राष्ट्रीय वेतनमान को तुरंत लागू करने की मांग को लेकर मुख्य सलाहकार मोहम्मद यूनुस के आधिकारिक आवास जमुना के पास बड़ी संख्या में विरोध लोग प्रदर्शन किया जा रहा है। प्रदर्शनकारियों को हटाकर बैरिकेड लगाए गए है। इस दौरान सुरक्षाबलों ने वाटर कैनन और साउंड ग्रेनेड का इस्तेमाल किया। प्रदर्शनकारियों ने मोहम्मद यूनुस के घर पर धावा बोल दिया। स्थिति को नियंत्रित करने के लिए पुलिस को लाठीचार्ज करना पड़ा। इस दौरान 50 से ज्यादा लोग घायल हो गए।
