Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2012 Menswear Collection is built around one idea "The Net".

The perforated net-like fabric was used either in transparent or lined in washed cotton poplin for jackets, trousers, Bermuda shorts, T-shirts, bomber jackets, tracksuits and sweaters.

It was the most directional look of the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2012 collection (inspired in part from the fishermen in their native Southern Italy).

According to the designers, the idea was to update their sartorial roots, and involve the present generation in their fashion story.

“We’re in the mood to experiment, to rework tailoring, making it modern and innovative,” Domenico Dolce said at a breakfast get-together with reporters before the show.
