has been disassembled and I want to use this to switch mains powered devices in the new smarthome that I am building.
Instead I could have used the more familiar Sonoff range of products reflashed with the Tasmota operating system. But this would be an enthusiast solution and the target for this home is a non techical end user.
If the user has a single, IKEA app to deal with I think this would be much more preferable.
Plus for IKEA the app is not tied to you the user. You install the App and then pair it with your Tradfri gateway https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/tradfri-...
Once paired to a particular gateway the app reads the configuration of what the gateway knows about i.e. the whole home and displays it to the user.
Exactly what I want!
