An eastbound BNSF local train is seen passing through Ottumwa, Iowa in June 2008. This train is a regular local on the Ottumwa Subdivision, serving the Cargill plant and other industries in Eddyville, Iowa, and running east through Ottumwa, Fairfield, and Burlington, then on to Galesburg, Illinois, picking up and setting out cars as needed. Today's train features a nice standard cab lashup of older EMD diesels - in the lead is BNSF 2113, a former Burlington Northern GP38-2 still in its "Whiteface" paint scheme. Following is EMDX 783 (GP38-2) and BNSF 2572 (GP35).
