It's our second time in Taiwan and we wanted to explore more of the countryside, so we signed up for a 3-city tour taking us to the Yehliu Geopark, the town of Shifen and the mountain town of Jiufen. Admittedly, it was a whirlwind tour where we hardly had time to sit down in any of the destinations. But considering that these cities are almost an hour apart it was understandable that this is how group tours go (hit 3 towns in one day). The plan is always to do these types of tours at the beginning of your stay and then decide later on whether you want to explore them further in the coming days.
For us, it was enough that we saw a little bit of those towns and got to do the most significant thing...take pictures (lol!). Anyways, we did get to explore a bit and experience them in some way. I hope whatever I shared here inspires you to one day go see any of these 3 towns if you're ever in Taipei.
