Описание: Becoming an author was both my childhood and adult dream, and getting my book deal was a literal dream come true. It wasn’t a short journey from finishing my first book in 2009 to getting my deal, ten years later, in 2019, but it was worth it for me. This video will go through the journey from when I got my literary agent to the deal. This is for the books published as the Blood Like Duology: Blood Like Magic & Blood Like Fate.

Traditional publishing can often be a long journey because you go from your written work to getting an agent, to finally getting a book deal. But it’s never as simple as those three steps. I struggled through writing and querying two different novels before I found success with my third.

This video will also give you a peek into the process of getting a book deal from editing your work alongside your agent to the excitement and nervousness of going on submission to that period while waiting where you go through all those doubts and struggles of worrying whether you’ll ever sell.

Sarah McCabe at Simon Pulse has acquired Liselle Sambury's untitled debut YA fantasy novel and its sequel. After failing to come into her powers, 16-year-old Voya—a Black witch living in near-future Toronto—is forced to choose between losing her family's magic forever, a heritage steeped in centuries of blood and survival, or murdering her first love, a boy who is supposedly her genetic match. Publication is scheduled for summer 2021 and summer 2022; Kristy Hunter at the Knight Agency brokered the two-book deal for world English rights.
