Introduction :
Method in which the powder particles mix can be done by the use of granulating fluid.
The fluid contains a solvent which must be volatile so that it can be removed by drying & be non- toxic.
The granulation liquid may be used alone,more usually as a solvent containing dissolved adhesive which is used to ensure particle adhesion once the granule is dry.
Typical liquids include water,ethanol,isopropanol either alone or in combination.
Advantage :
Robust process
-Suitable for most compounds
-Imparts flow ability to a formulation.
-Binds API with excipient thus reducing segregation potential.
Disadvantage:
-Expensive
Time & energy consuming process
-Stability issues for moisture sensitive & thermolabile API with aqueous granulation.

3.Mixing including commonly used blenders.
4.Wet massing
5.Drying of moist granules
6.Sizing the granulation by dry screening
7.Lubrications of granules
