Batman return of the joker is a mash up of gameplay styles compiled together for an nes highlight reel. This sequel was an attempt to differentiate this experience from its predecessor. Providing players a variety of content spread across the adventure. As much as this was a sequel to a licensed movie tie in game it was very much an original work. However where I appreciate the ambition it needed more execution down the stretch. Where the original Sunsoft Batman felt tight and cohesive throughout. Return of the joker feels more like a series of trials that are brutal in delivery forcing you to change pace constantly.
