-During the Soviet-Finnish Winter War 1939-1940 the 44 American Brewster F2A-1 fighters Finland had bought from USA were assembled in Trollhättan, Sweden. The American test pilot Robert A. Winston tested them all before young Finnish pilots flew them to Finland. Winston has 1941 described all this in his book "Aces Wild", Finnish translations "Lento Suomeen" in 1996 and "Kertomus koelentäjästä" in 2001.
-In April 2000 the Association of the Finnish War Veteran Pilots, The Pilvenveikot placed a memorial tablet at the Trollhättan-Vänersborg Airport. This video shows Trollhättan and Vänersborg in 2000 and the visit of the Finnish veterans who were welcomed with a daring aerobatics show by Leif Simonsson. Even the widow of Bob Winston, Anne Winston was present. The commentary is in English but some interviews and speeches are in Swedish, some texts in Finnish.
