Cleveland Spring Trail, Blue Range Primitive Area, eastern Arizona

Описание: This is a video of a ride a buddy of mine and I took in February 2024 in the Blue Range Primitive Area, eastern Arizona. The Blue, as it is locally called, is my favorite place in the whole wide world. This is the last area designated as an official Primitive Area in the US National Forest system. Many of the old trails in this area, once nationally known, no longer exist or are considered impassable. The US Forest Service no longer maintains any of the trails; they just don't have the budget for it. Then there was the Wallow Fire of 2011...

This particular ride, starts at the Tut Creek Trail trailhead, crosses Bush Creek, and ascends the Cleveland Springs Trail, over into the Foot Creek drainage, and comes out Foote Creek to the Blue Road, making a loop of about 6.5 miles. Much of the trail no longer exists, but if one pays close attention and is careful, the old trail can be made out and a good horse can do it.

Maybe sometime in the future...Also, my buddy had major back surgery 2-1/2 weeks prior to this ride and he was very excited about the successful outcome. He had a prosthetic piece installed between two vertebra. His first ride in years without pain.
