Thick smog blanketed Lahore on Saturday, pushing the Air Quality Index to a hazardous 412, according to IQAir. Residents complained of respiratory problems and urged the government to act. Officials said the worsening pollution was caused by vehicle emissions, industrial smoke and cross-border haze from agricultural burning and Diwali firecrackers in India.
