Lu Xun's Maximization:

As with any other character with a safe and spammable musou filling attack, Musou is always a compatibility on the ideal weapon. One question that might be asked is whether Lu Xun should use a Heavy weapon for maximization. I would say no, although the results should be very similar to parts shown in this video (some of the video is leisure gameplay) with him using his Medium weight 4th weapon. With a Heavy weapon, he's much more of a Jump Charge spammer, and it probably fills musou slower than his powerful C3 with a Medium weapon. On top of this, a Medium weapon allows him to use his C1 for enhanced musou damage. This is far different from Lu Meng's C1 or Jiang Wei's C1, because Lu Xun can use his JC to set up opportunities to use his C1 at will, when other guys like Lu Meng can only do it when the chance presents itself. So I would say that this easily offsets the stronger musou damage granted by a Heavy weapon. The conclusion then would be to maximize with Medium.

Hmm......scrap Wind Scroll for Herbal Remedy? Long reach is does help his C3 to hit more, but Herbal Remedy would really jack up his C3 ending and JC. If Heavy weapon is your choice, then go with Herbal Remedy.

All right, not all of this video is maximization. There is a lot of leisure play here and there. It should be easy to see thought that the most effective way to play is to C3 for musou filling, and JC when officers get too close and he is unable to fill his musou in one C3, because if officers block his C3, they will retaliate. This is usually good thing because you can forcefully enter with C3 if you can plan for his musou to be filled during the process. If officers don't block then don't finish the C3 and jump straight to musou. If you're counting his C3 ending to fill all of his musou and an officer isn't blocking, then try to turn away to miss with his C3. And well of course, if this can't be done, then that's one reason for equipping the Ice Orb.

One very important note for maximization is the combination of JC and C1 as mentioned before. His JC allows him to manipulate crowds to create openings to execute C1 safely, and timed perfectly, in order to use it consistently against officers. His musou strikes may be inconsistent, and sometimes hard to kill tougher officers in one musou. Fortunately, his has his cheap JC.

The Xu Huang was a planned event. I was very glad that it turned out well. Things might have been a bit close, but this is still a very good example of how useful his JC and C1 are.
