Volkspares flew from Johannesburg to Cape Town for a weekend that lived and breathed motorsport passion. Our team at Volkspares joined forces with Flat Four Racing (Dave and crew) to take his Beetle up the closed-road hill climb of the Speed Classic Cape Town — held on the scenic 1.8 km incline of Philip Kgosana Drive at the foot of Table Mountain. This short film captures the heart of the event: the build-up, the nerves, the drive, and the energy that filled the mountain pass as racers from across the country and even the world, came together for this historic road-closure revival. From modern machines to timeless classics, the Speed Classic showcased true performance culture — and we were proud to be part of it alongside Dave’s unmistakable Beetle.
