When is the best time to visit Gattian?

The lake gets accessible June till September. But the best time to visit is last week of July till third week of August, when nature awakens, with lambs and wild horses bouncing around the lush green fields, wildflowers blooming at their best and the earth seems to have come to the life again.

How do I get to Gattian Lake?

The lake is accessible from Dowarian the base camp of Ratti Gali Lake, by an unmetalled 18 kilometers road cum hiking trek through breath-taking sites. Dowarian is about 101 km from Muzaffarabad. The trek to Gattian starts from the campsite of Ratti Gali, and takes around 6 to 7 after crossing the treacherous Gattian Pass at 4,400 metres (14,435 ft).
