It is a fairly rare thing for Matt to text me and inform me of an fbfc he has been in. So you know he thinks highly of a song when it happens. Great job friends, I know papaPWNS has wanted to do this for awhile.
Speaking of the ol' scoundrel, it is interview time with Matt, the Godfather himself. Matt is on a short list of people that I would choose to have live if having to decide between a human and a canine for a blood sacrifice. Matt's dedication to the team over the years has been remarkable. Even though he often has had no desire to play at certain times in his tenure, he is always willing to take one for the team - such as multiple Jane's Addiction fbfcs before he realized they're not all bad. Just don't ask him to buy something not in English or a cover. He won't. I could ramble on about our esteemed sultan, but I'm sure you're much more interested in prying into the mind of the one and only LucasPWNS8907:
1. How how long have you been playing the Rhythm games?
I started Guitar Hero 3 around midyear 2008.
2. What is your favorite chart to play on any game on any part?
This question is akin to asking my favorite song. Take On Me by a-ha is and probably always will be my favorite song to sing. Aside from that though, there are countless other gems that I love playing, but I wouldn't be so firmly cemented in those picks. They're more flighty, like the latest pop songs. You love them, then you find something else.
3. What's your second favorite color?
If we're just sticking to primarily rainbow-esque colors and shades I would say orange. More precisely, I'd say this shade is closest http://7-themes.com/6902643-beautiful... If we're not talking rainbow colors then it's a tough call between black and silver with a slight edge to black. Black electronics is like the only way to go. Also, black is the main color of the best Pokemon ever created, Umbreon.
4. What's your proudest Rhythm gaming accomplishment?
Boy this is a tough one. In comparison to everyone I play with I've literally accomplished nothing lol. So I'm going to go outside the box a bit and say the flourishing culture of ERG is my proudest rhythm gaming related accomplishment. I obviously didn't create it, but I've been around since its beginning and was an integral part of starting up. I was the Gal of olden days, always asking people to do stuff. I had so much fun being a part of, and eventual head, of leadership. It's been an amazing ride and I still can't believe the caliber of content that we're able to produce. I love this team so much.
5. What's your worst choke?
I've certainly had a fair share of really dumb misses. A couple instances of me not paying attention and missing while not realizing everyone else was FCing (Shockwave). Or end squeezing a phrase that didn't have an end to squeeze (Runnin' Down A Dream, ask GS Ben). Damn those deceptive and far placed phrase ending markers. And then there was probably my favorite choke on Sweet Leaf vox on GH. To be fair I wasn't really familiar with the song/chart and it was probably my 3rd or 4th time listening, but I missed on at least two occasions after all the drum wankery. Relax also comes to mind... Also, there have been some chokes in pro band that were just as stupid, Down (311) comes to mind. But far and away my worst choke has been kept rather quiet. And although I'm not keen on sharing it, I'll take one for the team. Motherfucking cocksucking Fat Kid by Nothing More, the Victor(ia) of its time. On RB2 when I was fresh with the song, we got it fairly effortlessly outside of the team. Then about a year later, Isaac joined the team and wanted to do it for the team. I agreed and took a quick peak at it to refresh. All was well. We later got the group together for it and I couldn't fucking hit FC it to save my life. I missed either the last or second last phrase several times. I quickly went to practice mode again to figure out what was wrong. Turns out my calibration was an atypical vocal calibration. After a minor adjustment to the norm, we proceeded to FBFC it. So the moral of the story kids is to check your calibration per instrument, even on vocals (if it's a really tight song).
My friend Matt is very thorough. Thorough enough with his answers that we can't fit his greatness in one video description due to character count limits. Catch the rest of the interview in forthcoming videos.
