So, the main difference is the Frame
The Trek Marlin 4 comes with an Alpha Aluminum frame that is quite lightweight hence making it suitable for riding around rough places. The frame also comes with integrated SR Suntour fork. The Specialized rock hopper 29 comes with a light alloy frame that runs its 120mm fork and 29” wheels. The Giant Talon 4 has the best geometry for a mountain bike by having a head tube angle of 67.5”/68.6” compared to the Specialized hopper 68”/68”.5” and Trek marlin 4 69.3”/69/5”. This makes it better for peddling and speed.
