The Cheoah River in NC had its last fall release for the season and we made the trip from Tennessee to enjoy it. Nick, Joel, Elliot and I made it to the bottom before anyone else and got in front of the water a bit. Rocks, waves, holes, a beaver dam, and beautiful trees and lots of fun! What a joy it was paddling my 23 pound Ringer down the river. Lots of people were like "what?? you can paddle a carbon boat on the Cheoah?" The answer is yes, of course. At 1/2 of the weight of a plastic boat, it responds lightning fast, is fun and easy to load, unload, carry, and mostly paddle. The design is a bow dry design and incredibly fast. I really enjoy carving turns across eddies, moving around the river back and forth. Fun times! Music performed live at my house, the "Jackson Ranch" by Jonathan Phelps, and Jon Cheney on Kristine's piano.
