DRF Luftrettung Bell 412 - Christoph Thüringen, Station Bad Berka

HDM Flugservice owns specially equipped helicopters so they are able to do night flights and night search and rescue.

Station Bad Berka operates with Bell 412HP helicopter. During our visit the current chopper was D-HHCC.

The Bell 412 is a twin-engine utility helicopter manufactured by Bell Helicopter. It is a development of the Bell 212 with the major difference being the composite four-blade main rotor.
A Bell 412 prototype first flew in August 1979. The initial model was certified in January 1981 with the deliveries commencing in the same month.

DRF Luftrettung is one of the two huge medical air rescue companies from Germany. They have a lot of helicopters around the country (and two BK117 in Austria). DRF operates with Eurocopter Ec-135, Ec-145, Eurocopter-Kawasaki BK-117 and Bell 412 helicopters.

A Bell 412 egy kéthajtóműves többcélú helikopter a Bell Helicopterstől. A típus fejlesztése a Bell 212 modellből indult ki. Fő módosítása a főrotorrendszer kicserélése két rotorlapátosból négy kompozit rotorlapátos elrendezésre.
A Bell 412 prototípusa 1979 augusztusában repült először. A modell 1981 januárjában kapta meg a végleges típus certifikációt.

A DRF Luftrettung egyike a két nagy német légimentő cégnek. Az ADAC Luftrettunggal vállvetve Németország szerte biztosítják a légimentést helikoptereikkel. A cég Eurocopter Ec-135, Ec-145, Eurocopter-Kavasaki BK-117 és Bell 412 helikopterekkel üzemel.
