René Creemers: My drum solo's usually start with a motif that develops into a sentence. One or more sentences together eventually form a theme. From that moment on the theme is the core of my solo. However, my starting point for this solo has been a groove from a Donald Fagen song. The theme developed some later.

About René Creemers:
At the age of 6 René Creemers starts to play the drums. From 1977 he studied classical percussion at the Arnhem Conservatory where he graduates cum laude in 1982. What follows is a carrier as band and solo drummer. First in local bands, some later in the Dutch/German band called Blowbeat. With this band René played a lot of shows throughout the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Switzerland between the years of 1983 and 1991.

From 1991 and ever since René has been doing lots of concerts, masterclasses and clinics for the German drums manufacturer Sonor and the Swiss cymbalbrand Paiste. Initially he travels through the west of Europe for various solo performances.

In 2000 he started Drumbassadors together with Wim de Vries. With this drum duo-concept he gave countless of concerts, clinics and masterclasses all over the world. Some of those highlights are: Modern Drummer Festival New York 2003, Australian Ultimate Drummer Weekend Melbourne 2005, Drummer Live London 2005, Le Bag show Paris 2007, Drummer Event Moscow 2008, Montreal DrumFest 2008, 2012 and 2014.

Between 1992 and 2012 René has been chosen 10 times the best Fusiondrummer BeNeLux by the readers of the Slagwerkkrant. Additionally he gave various workshops and masterclasses all over the world.

From 1988 René has been a drums teacher at the conservatory of Arnhem and ever since 1999 at the Rockacademy in Tilburg.

In 2014 he joined Any Vegetable. Any Vegetable is an initiative of bassist and friend Pieter Douma, who founded the band in 2014. It was his idea to start a band consisting of three elder, experienced musicians and three young talents, to form a repertoire together in which experience and fresh spontaneity go together.
