Описание: One of the most ruthless and brutal men of the 17th century was Oliver Cromwell, who is remembered for being the Lord Protector of the English Commonwealth. His greatest achievement was defeating the royalist army during the English Civil War, and because of this he advocated the Kings execution and he got his wish. Cromwell was one of the leading figures behind King Charles I’s bloody execution, however his own demise was brutal and he would be subjected to a rare posthumous execution. This was when his remains were dug up and paraded in front of a crowd before they were executed, with Cromwell’s decaying remains being hacked to pieces at Tyburn. His story is one which saw a landowner become one of the most powerful men in Europe, and certainly one of the most feared but his fate after death was at the hands of the son of the executed King. But what is the story of opening the coffin of Oliver Cromwell?
