One of our coolest experiences in French Polynesia happened in Huahine when we got to experience a French Polynesian Heiva. After hearing about the Heiva for months we knew we couldn’t miss out on seeing it. Turns out, it was a song and dance cultural extravaganza that we’ll remember forever.

But before we got to see the Heiva, we had a few more fun adventures on Huahine first. We got to meet Paul, an incredibly friendly local who welcomed us to the island and gifted us some delicious coconuts. It took Amy a few tries, but now we know how to open them! Huahine is also famous for their blue eyed eels so we set a day aside to go find them and then do a bit of hiking.
