Four years after playing the Waldbühne already, Queen return to the outdoor venue in 1986 to play another show that is part of the German "Open Air Festival '86". Just like in 1982, the band are swarmed by mosquitoes throughout the show which might affect their performance which is far less tight and consistent than what you'd usually expect from a Magic Tour show. Especially Brian has some uncharacteristically sloppy moments, mostly during the first 40 minutes of the show. Put that together with a rough show for Freddie (despite the five days off, he only manages to sing cleanly in a few songs although his soft tone sounds quite good during the acoustic set!), leading to weak renditions of 'Seven Seas of Rhye', 'I Want to Break Free' and 'Hammer to Fall' (for Freddie, who often struggled with this song in 1986). Despite this, there are great moments throughout, including 'One Vision', 'A Kind of Magic' and 'Now I'm Here' as well as Brian's 9-minute-long guitar solo which includes a few hints at older songs and covers and is generally very strong. This show also infamously features a one-off cover of Led Zeppelin's 'Immigrant Song' after the Impromptu. While it's clearly not planned and rehearsed, the band have a lot of fun with it.
