Before you begin to set up your new tennis net, check your tennis posts to see if you have an internal winder or an external winder. If you have an internal winder, then your wire cable will need to be cut down with wire cutters to give your cable the correct length and a plain pin finish.

Unfold the tennis net and lay it out across your tennis court before locating the end of the wire. Hook the net onto the anchor post and place the cable over the post so that it sits in the groove on top. At the other end of the net its time to feed the cable into the winder post and turn the winder handle till the net is taut.

To ensure that your tennis won’t sag in the middle, loosely tie ropes around the edge of the net and the posts to pull them together. You may want to do this at the top of the post and at the bottom to make the net more stable while securing it. Now you can use the winder handle to tighten the net till it’s reached optimum court performance. You can then begin to weave the lacing bars through the net and into the post, so your Vermont tennis net stands taut through any ferocious tennis game.

For the final touches, remove the protective plastic off the top of the net and cut away the loosely secured ropes from around the post. Now you have a Wimbledon-worthy tennis net to complete your set-up!
