Pregnant people and newborns are at higher risk for getting very sick with respiratory viruses, like COVID-19, flu, whooping cough, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
There is currently a nationwide shortage of the RSV immunization for infants and toddlers. However, pregnant people between 32-36 weeks of pregnancy can receive the RSV vaccine and pass protection on to their baby.
For more information about vaccines during pregnancy, talk to your prenatal health care provider. Learn more about the new RSV vaccine by visiting go.cdph.ca.gov/RSV
