Polyphemus | EPIC: The Musical OC Animatic

The series follows three gig workers of the post-apocalypse, Ish, Nessa, and Guy, as they struggle to make ends meet in a world themed around different literary genres. Think Adventure Time or One Piece or Doctor Who but instead of a magic police box transporting him in time and space the Doctor had to walk everywhere.

CHARACTERS:
ISH - Pirate hat aficionado and graduate of Lawyer University.
NESSA - Sideburns ballerina.
GUY - Lucky Cat Cosmonaut.
LU - Green with with the big coat.
SOLA - Orange with monarch butterfly dress.
PETE - Traveling soda salesman with a suitcase full of infinite soda.
WITCH QUEEN - Big.
THE JUSTICE - The Witch Queen's Very Normal Daughter.

CONTEXT: This particular animatic is based on a two episode story arc that'd take place early on in the series based around Surrealist Fiction.

After accidentally wondering into the magical realm of Surrealia, the gang is transformed into toys by an evil witch. Ish is transformed into a toy soldier, Guy into a lucky cat, and Nessa into a ballerina. (She managed to reflect the magical blast with her sword resulting in only the partial transformation. Causing her to lose her sword and fusing her legs together. The witch explains that she transformed them to keep them from running off when she invites them to become her new besties and watch her favorite children's network sitcom: Tay-Tay and the Squad. Ish and Nessa refuse and demand to be turned back to normal, but Guy likes being a lucky cat and after a bit of flirting he and the witch decide to ditch the other two to binge watch Tay-Tay together. Now lost in the forest, Ish and Nessa flag down the first non-Seussian nightmare creature they see: Pete Flurpman the traveling soda salesman. Pete agrees to take them to the nearest evil witch's castle in exchange for purchasing several cases of soda.

After reaching the castle the trio are confronted by the witch outside and Pete realizes that the "evil witch" they've been searching for is his sister-in-law, Lu.

PETE: Lu ain't evil she's just quirky.
NESSA: SHE LIVES IN THE EVIL WITCHES CASTLE THAT YOU BROUGHT US TO.
PETE: Yeah, that's weird. She don't got the kinda income to afford a place like this.
NESSA: THAT'S NOT THE POINT.

Pete explains that Lu and his wife, Sola, had a falling out a few weeks ago for mysterious reasons. Nessa, Pete, and Sola go to confront Lu while Ish searches the upper levels of the castle to retrieve Guy. Nessa gets the witch sisters to make up but not until after the two of them have trashed the castle with a magical duel.

The first episode ends with the sisters hugging it out when the real owner of the castle returns home to find the place trashed and the portrait of her beloved daughter destroyed. This animatic picks up where the second episode begins, with the witch queen ready to kill everyone on sight for their transgressions against the crown. However, Ish manages to convince her that he is their lawyer and so a trial for all of their lives begins.
