48 Killed As Storms, Rain And Heatwave Disrupt North India

Описание: Severe storms and unseasonal rain continue to disrupt normal life across several states even as a nationwide heatwave persists, with 48 deaths reported in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. In Bihar, 17 people have died in the past 24 hours due to storms, rain and lightning strikes, while flight operations in Patna were affected with multiple diversions and delays impacting hundreds of passengers. A rain alert has been issued for 25 districts.

In Uttar Pradesh, 31 people have lost their lives due to storms and squalls, with heavy rainfall in Saharanpur causing flash-like runoff that swept away vehicles. A rain alert remains active across all 75 districts. Rajasthan is also expected to witness hailstorms in 30 districts, with temperatures dropping significantly in several northern regions. Punjab reported hail in Pathankot and heavy rain in Mohali as unstable weather conditions continue across North India.
