This Model Train Video Ends With An Accident!

Описание: For the first five and a half minutes, everything goes well in this video... as I run five model trains on a layout winding through my house.

It turns out that I made a tiny mistake when I set up the layout, though! There needed to be just a tiny bit more distance between the two tracks at one of the curves. With my GoPro protruding from the side of a rail car, there wasn't quite enough clearance when a passenger train came around the bend at just the wrong moment.

The good thing about having a train bump in to my GoPro was that it made for a good ending to the video!

In this video, the GoPro is mounted on the side of a White Pass & Yukon Route Railway passenger car. Other model trains you'll see in the video are an Amtrak passenger train, the Santa Fe Super Chief, a little Porter steam engine pulling German passenger cars, and Thomas The Tank Engine. If you listen carefully, you may notice that Thomas' whistle gets stuck in the "on" mode at about four and a half minutes in to the video... and it takes me over twenty seconds to finally get it to shut off.

These model trains are G-scale, one of the largest sizes. At the end of the video, when I sit next to the trains to explain how the crash occurred, you get an especially good view of how large these trains are.
