I was that kid who was always goal-oriented. I had my life plan mapped out at 12—get married at 20 and have kids soon after. But life has a way of making you adjust. By 20, I wasn’t ready for marriage, nor at 25. It wasn’t until I was 29 that I tied the knot. That said, fatherhood was always something I wanted. I needed the right pieces, like finding the right partner and building a stable business to set up my future family for success.”

You have to be disciplined with your time when you have multiple businesses and a family. I’ve always firmly believed in working hard in my 20s to set up my 30s and beyond. Now that I’m a father, it’s less about working harder and more about working smarter. My days are structured, and my time is segmented. For example, my mornings are for business, and I’m in dad mode when the afternoon rolls around. We’ve got a routine—walks with Beckham (my son), family dinners, and then winding down for the night.”

“The demand on my time, hands down. Before Beckham, I could respond to business needs quickly, within a week or two. Now, I’m booking things out a month in advance. It’s taught me to be more protective of my time and prioritize what matters. That’s been the biggest adjustment—learning to say no and realizing that I can’t please everyone.”

My dad taught me that we do the work first and then have fun. It’s a principle I’ve lived by, and it’s something I want Beckham to understand. Life is about facing difficulties and growing from them. That’s the legacy I want to pass on—grit, perseverance, and a solid moral compass.”

Fatherhood changes everything. It alters your perspective, your priorities, and even your approach to business. However, as Dave pointed out, the most rewarding things in life are often the hardest. Whether building a company from the ground up or raising a child, your effort will shape your future and the legacy you leave behind.
