I am a travel and landscape photographer. In this video I share the process of selecting the best paper for two black and white images juried into the Fine Art of Photography exhibit at the Plymouth Center for the Arts. This video explores printing with the Epson Eco-tank ET-8550, a printer with a unique dye and pigment black ink system, and its suitability for fine art papers.
Join the comparison of three different paper types: UltraPro Satin (a lustre paper from Red River), Aurora Art White (a smooth art paper from Red River), and Hahnemuhle William Turner (a textured art paper chosen for its potential to enhance the image's details).
The video also examines two printing approaches: using ICC profiles and the Epson printer's Advanced Black and White (ABW) mode. Watch as small 4x6 test prints are evaluated and printing software settings are refined. Ultimately, larger 12x12 prints on each paper will be compared, with a final selection made for the exhibition. This video offers insights into choosing the right paper and printing method for high-quality black and white photography, setting the stage for the matting and framing process in the next video.
