NRV Operation
Automatic Function: No external, manual, or operator intervention is required to open or close the valve.
Pressure-Driven: Forward flow pressure lifts a disc, ball, or piston, opening the valve.
Backflow Prevention: If pressure drops, the closing member is forced back over the inlet, sealing the pipe.
Types: Common types include swing check (hinged disc), spring-loaded (lift/inline), and ball check valves.
Common Applications
Pump Protection: Prevents damage from backward spinning (liquid hammer).
