So, the steam tractor returns; this incarnation is an undermounted one. It bears considerable resemblance to an Avery tractor, although I didn't want it to be totally exact copy of one, so consider it a tweaked Avery.
Compared with the previous model, this one is vastly superior due to the double cylinder design. It is so powerful in fact, that it's capable of ploughing actual dirt, making grooves proportional to its own size.
Despite its capabilities, it is not a terribly complicated build, although the steering gave me quite a headache to get right, and so did the huge weight combined with the enormous wheels, resulting in breaking lego gears (I had to double them), and wobbly axles.
I really like how this turned out to be, especially the sound. When I mounted the camera on the cabin, it resulted in that awesome clanking-hissing 'steam' tractor engine sound; I am sorry that take is not longer, but the engine broke down right after the end cut :)
Anyhow, enjoy the world's first lego steam traction engine, ploughing real earth in a real garden :)
