In this second message of our Advent series, we explore the deep biblical meaning of peace—not merely as the absence of conflict, but as the presence of wholeness, restoration, and alignment with God. Through the Hebrew word shalom and the Greek eirene, Scripture reveals that peace is something whole, complete, and complex—and something that Jesus came to restore in us and through us.

Drawing from stories in Luke 2, Luke 7, Luke 8, and John 14, we discover that:

Peace is possible even in brokenness.

Jesus consistently offers peace to those others rejected.

To “go in peace” is not just to feel calm—it’s to be made whole.

We experience peace through justification, reconciliation, and trust in what only God can do.

Jesus is the Prince of Peace who brings alignment to every fragmented part of our lives.

You’ll hear the stories of Simeon, the sinful woman, the bleeding woman, and Jesus at the Last Supper—all testifying to this kind of peace. And you’ll be invited to consider what peace with God might mean for your confidence, honesty, and courage in the world today.
