I really had to force it today. We are on Day 9 of "Force Myself to Learn French," and the momentum was low—but I’m here. Today’s study is all about looking ahead: Le Futur.
French has a few ways to talk about the future, and according to my slides today, it’s not as simple as just adding an ending. We’re breaking down the immediate future, the distant future, and that weird "future in the past" tense.
🇫🇷 What I forced myself to learn today:
Le Futur Proche: For things that are going to happen (Aller + Infinitif).
Le Futur Simple: The "real" future tense and those annoying irregular stems like fer-, aur-, and ser-.
Le Futur Antérieur: Talking about what will have been completed (perfect for setting goals!).
Speaking vs. Writing: Why the French use Futur Proche almost all the time when talking.
The Reality: I’m a bit delayed, I’m tired, but Day 9 is done. One more day until double digits.
Comment below: If you’re also "forcing" yourself to learn a language, how do you handle the days when you just don't want to? Let's help each other out.
