Did a little test with some "hot PAF" type pickups in my 2012 Explorer to see if I like them better then then original "Super ceramic" 500T/496R set.
I wound the new pickups myself using 42 AWG wire and roughcast Alnico 5 magnets. They are 7.7K (neck) and 8.5K (bridge). In the end I think the super ceramics have more balls and a more distinct voice, so they will go back in.
