DREAM
START
Sheetal, 25: Excited/ Wow, what I wanted has happened! I'm wearing such beautiful new clothes for my best festival and I even get to sit on a swing.
Narration: Sheetal is very happy sitting in the swing and from there goes to the ghat and sings a song.
Sheetal 25: Sings / Sheetali Bayariya Sheetal Duje Paniya... When will you come to see me... Now I will eat my favorite Thekua.
Narration: Just as Sheetal is about to eat the Thekua, her stepmother wakes her up by her hair.
#dreamend...
Ambika 50: Kyori is sleeping in her mother's hotel and hasn't woken up yet. The same situation was on Diwali, the same situation on Chhath. Get up and finish preparing for Chhath. Shameless, she sleeps like a dead person. I have to scream 10 times and only then has she woken up after catching the swing. Shameless.
Sheetal 25: Crying / Ahhhh, Mother, it's hurting me, please let me go. Tell me what work you have to do, I'll do it quickly.
Ambika 50: Pick up the sack of wheat and take it to the rooftop. Wash it, dry it thoroughly. Then, two days later, grind it on the mill at home. If a bird eats this grain, you can't even imagine what I'll do to you.
Sheetal 25: Crying/ "Jijiji, mother... I'll do everything properly, don't worry."
Narration: Sheetal wakes up, picks up the sack of wheat and goes to the rooftop. She thoroughly washes all the wheat two or four times in a tub and dries it.
Sheetal: "My God, I'm sweating profusely from lifting so much wheat, and my hands are aching. The day has just begun. For a week, Choti Maa will keep making me prepare for Chhath Puja. Last Chhath, Choti Maa didn't give me any clothes either... I made you work. Oh, Chhathi Maiya, don't do this this time."
Vipin 24: "Oh, sister, will you just sit here or do other work for Chhath? Go and clean the house."
Sheetal 25: But I'm drying the wheat. My younger mother asked me to guard it.
Vipin 24: Look, Sheetal, sister, both are mother's jobs. If you don't run around and do it, it's your loss. And if you skip any task, it's your loss. Now, you see.
Sheetal 25: Okay, you go, I'll come. Man: What should I do to protect the wheat so that birds or cats don't come in? Yes, I'll cover it with another saree and then use a brick. Then no one can drop it, nor will it get dirty.
Narration: Sheetal puts a light saree on the wheat, covering it with bricks so that no birds can eat it. Meanwhile, she runs downstairs to clean the kitchen utensils and remove the cobwebs.
Sheetal 25: Panting, I don't understand how it got so dirty even after all the cleaning this Diwali, I'll do it quickly.
Dharmesh 50: In the hall/Children, look, I've brought you hot vegetable bread pakoras. Come and eat them with tea...
Radhika 22: Yeahhhh, Papa, I wanted to eat this and you brought it for me this morning. The taste of eating this early in the morning is unmatched anywhere else.
Narratiom: Sheetal overhears this. Her face was covered in dirt. After washing her hands, she goes into the hall.
Radhika 25: Khushi/Papa, I'll sit and eat with everyone.
Ambika 50: Oh, you bastard, how dare you? You don't have the guts to sit with us and eat all this. You've been given work, right? Why aren't you working?
Dharmesh 50: I said I brought this for my children, not for you, you unlucky person. I've asked you to prepare for Chhath Puja, so go do that.
Sheetal 25: Tearing eyes / Dad, I also want to eat this. Why do you treat me like this?
Dharmesh 50: Sarcasm / You're a burden on all of us. I was forced to marry your mother, and then you came along. It's good that she died after her death. Ambika and Ambika's children are everything to me, not you.
Vipin 24: Now that you've heard it from Papa, get out of here. Let me eat in peace, don't cast an evil eye on me.
Narration: Tears well up in Sheetal's eyes. She goes back to the kitchen and starts cleaning. After polishing all the utensils, she runs to the kitchen and goes to the terrace, where she takes the wheat to dry.
Sheetal 25: I'll dry the remaining wheat tomorrow
