This permaculture certification program will teach you to become an effective ecological land steward and designer in right relationship with your plant, animal, and human community. You’ll learn tools and skills to integrate core permaculture ethics, principles, and whole-systems thinking into any situation or landscape.

Every one of our instructors is a true permaculturist, incorporating permaculture into their landscapes, businesses, and day-to-day lives for decades. You’ll learn from their successes and failures, as they share candidly about diverse experiences applying permaculture principles to real-life situations.

The course is an immersive permaculture design certificate course (PDC) where you will learn how to create a permaculture paradise for humans, animals, and perennial food systems. This course has a special focus on disaster response and designing for disasters brought on by climate change.

In these modern times, we organize our lives on our phones, communicate via the Internet, and live in a culture so very estranged from each other and the Earth. Yet, the power and wisdom of the wild world continues to speak to us and through us.

There are lots of other wonderful workshops and wild retreats hosted at Wild Abundance. All of them include free camping on a flat tent site in the charming forested campground just uphill from learning spaces with use of shared facilities including outdoor kitchen, hot outdoor shower, and more. We recommend students consider staying on campus to maximize social time with classmates outside of "class" during the 4 day workshops & retreats... of course for those who prefer to sleep elsewhere there are lots of airbnb's and a bed and breakfast down the road.

Wild Abundance is a unique skills education center nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina, just outside Asheville.
