VZ2008 Trigger Problem: Gremlin Trigger Failure

Описание: Showing the Trigger Failures on a Century Arms vz2008 7.62x39 Rifle, known as the Gremlin Trigger (bad fire control group design). I experienced a complete trigger failure on the CAI VZ-2008 from J&G Sales within the first 40 rounds through the rifle. I provide updates on the repair process done by Century Arms under warranty below.

I do realize that the Safety is in the incorrect position during some of the video footage provided, PLEASE NOTE, this has no bearing on the trigger failure I am experiencing with this rifle... I am just trying to replicate the issue I had at the range.

It is a commonly known issue for the VZ2008 Trigger group to have this problem, and has been labeled "Gremlin Trigger". To fix this problem on the vz2008 rifle, it requires a shim on the axis pin to allow the sear to engage properly (essentially a spacing issue).

Also, the Safety position has no bearing on the trigger pull weight, which is also a known issue for this rifle having the Gremlin Trigger. The pull weight was near 5 lbs, when it should be a consistent pull of around 3 lbs.

LIST OF ISSUES WITH MY CENTURY VZ2008 RIFLE:

--Issue #1: Trigger or Fire Control Group Failure (trigger does not function when pulled)

--Issue #2: Trigger Pull is 8+ lbs, instead of 5-6 lbs per owners manual


CENTURY WARRANT REPAIRS UPDATE:

--Update 1 (12-12-13): Spoke with J&G, no exchanges available. Offered Refund or to contact Century Arms for repair. Contacted Century, they will provide a paid shipping label for return to them for repair.

--Update 2 (12-13-13): Received ID Waiver from Century via email. Had to sign and send back with a copy of my Drivers License. They are supposed to send me a Return Shipping Package label once they receive and process the Waiver.

--Update 3 (12-17-13): Received Shipping Label via email for return of rifle.

--Update 4 (2-4-14): Received Rifle Back. Initial look-over seems promising. No wiggle or slack in trigger and can't seem to replicate failed trigger issue. Also, trigger now pulls consistently at 5.1 lbs - not the 8+ lbs as before. According to the gunsmith report included with the rifle, they did the following: Headspace check, gas system check, mag catch fit check, polish chamber, ejector check, bolt and carrier fit and function check (polish?), Test fire 30 rounds w/Hot Shot, Cleaned firearm, fire control group adjustment. Will get to the range as soon as possible for some additional function testing, but am pretty confident the bugs have been worked out. Will link the range function test to this video when it becomes available.
