"After establishing himself as one of the most promising artists with the inaugural release of the now buy on sight Lobster Theremin imprint, Berlin-based Londoner Palms Trax decamps to Amsterdam institution Dekmantel with the In Gold EP. As with his prior two releases, the crosshairs are locked firmly on the ‘floor, leading off with the deep, grooving, post-Chicagoan vibes of the title cut that employs the producer’s now trademark lush synth lines, sitting somewhere between the work of Simoncino and Perseus Traxx. Next, ‘People Of Tusk’ retains a similar dexterous use of melody yet letting the drums splutter just a little more whereas ‘Sumo Acid Crew’ is a much tighter jam with a dampened acid motif and glassy chord chimes."
