► The Prime Minister has told the nation the weeks and months ahead will be difficult and will 'test the metal' of the UK. It comes as he announced his new approach to coronavirus restrictions, the three tier system, created to simplify the rules.

Boris Johnson says it's needed as cases have quadrupled, and there are now more people in hospital with Covid than when we first went into lockdown.
