Scott Darling's Rise From the SPHL to the NHL
Scott Darling is a retired professional ice hockey goaltender. He began his professional career playing for the Louisiana Icegators of the SPHL. After playing for the Mississippi RiverKings, Florida Everblades, Wichita Thunder, Wheeling Nailers, Hamilton Bulldogs, Milwaukee Admirals, Cincinnati Cyclones, and the Rockford IceHogs, Scott finally made it to the NHL. Scott is the only SPHL player to work his way up to the NHL. He is also a Stanley Cup Champion.
Darling was selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 6th round, 153rd overall, of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
